La Fajita

without comments

A Mexican restaurant with a slight twist in the Castro, this is not your standard burrito shop.  They have a great selection of Fajita’s which are my personal favorite Mexican dish.  Every time I have eaten here I have been very happy with the dishes they serve.  They are also very fast, this is not a fancy dine in spot, so it gives the feeling that its a typical burrito spot.  They are located on Market St. near Trigger and Medium Rare Music.  Yelp also gives them decent marks so you can be sure you will be happy.

Medium Rare Music

without comments

Medium Rare Music is a small shop that specializes in Music and Movies on DVD, Blu Ray, CD formats.  They have a nice selection of used and new, I believe that they also buy as well.  They are located on Market St. just down from Trigger and next door to Super Duper Burgers in the Castro.

Super Duper Burgers

without comments

A new restaurant in the Castro is Super Duper Burgers, I have not tried this place as I am a fan of Sliders.  From the outside this place looks pretty cool it has a fun diner type atmosphere and there where a decent amount of foot traffic.  Super Duper Burgers is just down the street from Squat & Gobble which is below the Lookout and a few doors down from Trigger.  They are also right across the street Gold’s Gym so when you finish with your workout or your crazy sex games in their steam room, giving random guys head will work up a sweat!

La Mediterranee Castro

La Mediterranee Castro

This is another Castro restaurant I have not tried yet, it’s a hair off the beat and path.  La Mediterranee is on Noe St. right across from Cafe Flore and below the Lookout.  Yelp has this place ranked with pretty decent reviews so I can’t see it being a bad choice.  I still have not eaten here, so other than providing a listing, not much to say.  There is also a paid parking garage just across the street, the only one in the Castro.

Fin Decor

without comments

There is a hidden jem of a furniture store just off Noe St in the Castro.  Fin Decor has some really cool furniture and home decor accessories.  The store may be small but they have a pretty comprehensive catalog that you can order from.  They are just across the street from Cafe Flore and below the Lookout, there is also a paid parking garage right across the street.

Castro Parking Garage

without comments

Parking in the Castro can be frustrating at times, well hidden on Noe St. not far from Market is a paid parking garage.  Actually it’s the only paid parking garage in the entire Castro, there is another paid parking lot on Market St. called Sullivans.  This garage is right behind Cafe Flore which is just across from the Lookout and Bagdad Cafe.

Beware that this garage closes promptly at midnight!  They will not come back to let you get your car, so if you miss it you are out of luck for the night.

A fun little shop in the Castro is Kard Zone, they have some very funny cards that are great.  If you are looking for a dirty card for a birthday or special occasion hit this store up, you will be very happy.

Capri

without comments

Another great Italian restaurant in the Castro is Capri, they are located on Market St. between Noe and dirty Sanchez.  I have eaten here at least a dozen times and have loved every dish I have ever had.  The staff is great and their is at least one waiter who likes to give me crap, I love it!  This is a must do if you love Italian food, I think it is the best in the Castro.  They are near Cafe Flore and the Lookout with convenient paid parking down at Sullivan’s or behind just off Noe st.

On busy nights I would suggest calling to get a table, they can get a bit busy.

Sullivan’s Parking

without comments

The Castro is very limited for parking, there are quite a few metered spots but they fill up fast and are restricted during business hours for commercial use.  Street parking is also limited during business hours to those who have an S permit, so if you do not have one you will have some trouble.  San Francisco is a town where you can get away without a car and exclusively use public transportation.  It’s reasonably priced and fairly easy to use, best of all its clean and safe.

But if you insist on parking in the Castro and want a paid option, Sullivan’s funeral services has a fairly decent outside parking lot that they use for paid parking.  They are conveniently located on Market St.  between dirty Sanchez or Sanchez St. and Noe.  They are close to Beck’s Motor Lodge, the only hotel in the Castro.  Not far from Cafe Flore and Lookout, most of the time parking is at its worst during clubbing hours.

Leticia’s

without comments

Leticia’s is a Mexican restaurant located in the Castro, this is another restaurant I have not tried yet.  I love Mexican food so I will try it soon.  This is a new place it used to be a Thai restaurant.  The reviews on Yelp are not that great, they only have 2 stars so it may not be worth trying.  But to be fair I am posting it so you know where it is and its an option.  They are located between Noe and dirty Sanchez or just Sanchez St.  This is across the street from LIME and 22-23 and just down the street from Cafe Flore.  This place is also just steps away from Beck’s Motor Lodge the only hotel in the Castro.
